Bob Ott speaks about life outside politics, up in the air

COBB COUNTY – The day after Bob Ott was elected as the southeast Cobb Commissioner, he didn’t spend it celebrating with friends and family. Rather Ott, a Delta Airlines pilot, flew to Anchorage, Alaska, and back, and thus began the dual life of a political leader and pilot.

Ott began his career as a pilot almost 29 years ago when he joined the Air Force. After 8 years of dangerous situations, including one FB-111 flight high above the Atlantic Ocean when both engines failed and the aircraft began descending “like a space shuttle,” he decided to give commercial flying a shot and has never looked back…

Ott: Cobb not yet committed to ‘Hooch bridge

DEAR EDITOR:

I read with interest Joe Kirby’s commentary March 21 about the pedestrian/bicycle bridge at Morgan Falls being proposed by the National Park Service. He did a good job capturing the sentiment of those on the Cobb side who are opposed to the NPS proposal.

However, I feel that there is additional information regarding this process that is underway that is important to the discussion…
